Don’t know where my head was on that list.  John Cusack isn’t on it. I’m afraid he’d beat out John Stewart. <g>

Okay, I’m way behind on the Scene From a Pic, so I’m going to put that up here for the weekend instead of art and music.  I had music lined up, but I haven’t heard back from the artist I really want to showcase, so maybe next week.

I don’t always ask.  In the beginning I did.  Every person I emailed said as long as there’s a link and they get credit, they appreciate the publicity.  So after spending an extraordinary amount of time getting all yays from them and no nays, I stopped asking.

I recently had an artist contact me who wasn’t too happy.  We worked it out, however.  I had followed the rules on her site, but it wasn’t actually this blog that was the problem.

I’m so careful to put in credit and the only images you see here without credit come from free stock photo sites where I’m a member.

Except for the last SFAP image.  I tracked and tracked and couldn’t find the source.  Probably shouldn’t have used it, but it was just so great.

Okay, I have a question for those of you on Myspace.  Is it driving you nuts or what???  It’s like I’m under attack by friend requests and 98 percent of them are spam.  But they’re making it hard to tell.  They go so far as to make cool layouts and fill them out and every time I get suckered into believing, I end up with survey or free crap comments.  Grrrr!!!!!

I am now denying anyone who looks suspicious.  I simply can’t imagine why all the scantily clad teenagers with gun-toting boyfriend pics would want to be on my page.  I’m just a your typical scatter-brained urban fantasy writer. <g>

Oh, you simply must pull this post back up and click on the pic of my sister, hubby and me and check out the earrings I wore!  And those bangs!  What a dork.

  1. What a good reason not to do myspace. I’d thought about it and then went for blogger instead. I’m glad I did. I think I’ve heard more negative than positive about it. See you tomorrow if we don’t have a blizzard. Of course if it snows tomorrow like it rained this morning we could be in trouble.

  2. I think MySpace is a great tool for free publicity. It is a way for authors to gain new readers, especially younger ones who spend so much time there. But yes, I get a lot of bogus friend requests. I always check the site out. If Jenna Jameson is a top friend or an “I fill out surveys for a living” is posted on the site it is an automatic no. And I don’t feel bad about saying no. Because I’m a bitch like that. ;)

And about your celebs…I have a thing for James Woods. Can’t explain it.

  3. James Woods is wonderful! So is Tommy Lee Jones! I love intense, intelligent actors. :)

I don’t hate Myspace, just some aspects of it. I don’t like the blog and the spam issues. Plus, I find it difficult to keep up with people who really do want to be friends. That sounds terrible, but there’s only so much time I have for chatting and I prefer to do it on the blog friends I’ve made here and on your sites.
