If you’re curious about SFAP (Scene From a Picture–Snarky Reader Style) click here for details. In brief, this is a constant feature of the Write Snark that invites readers to open up their creativity and write from a visual image. A poem, a line, a scene–it’s up to you.
The current image and deadline is always displayed [...]

Defeatist attitudes serve absolutely no purpose.
They don’t. In fact, they hinder progress in a very real and tangible way. I’m around a few people who lean in that direction consistently and it’s quite draining.
I have, in fact, found myself wallowing in the sticky mire a time or two.
But I’m more of the type to tread for [...]

Okay, one more sharing of funnies with my Grandpa and then I’ll get this blog back to the writing…
Now, before anyone thinks I’m making fun, I’m not. Oh, I would never do that. I cherish these conversations because I knew he got a kick out of the exchanges, too. Oh, and when he says he’s dying… [...]

This is a very old picture of my grandparents. Linnie Bell and James Cromwell.
My grandpa passed away. He’d been sick for a long time, but he was a stubborn man and you’d still find him sneaking out onto the golf course behind my parents’ house to find golf balls. The last 24 hours have been [...]

I’m having to work on my “paying” job tonight since I got caught up in the brouhaha and I had slow progress with computer issues.
So, I put together a soundtrack guaranteed to keep the eyes open, the mouth singing and the attitude flowing.
Take the time to listen to the snippets on the Amazon links I’ve [...]

I started with one of the conversations on the big conference brouhaha but quickly bowed out because I wasn’t comfortable by all the harsh judgement flying in those comments. I’m still reading, though, because I’m weak. Weak, I tell you.
I did write up a long post about spending twenty years banging your head against an unforgiving [...]

I don’t have my pics back, so I’m shamelessly stealing some from others. Will give full credit. These are from J–she doesn’t have a website yet. She is one super cool lady even though she purposely holds out on pushing the button until I give up and talk! All pics have been manipulated to fit–so [...]

Home and exhausted like everyone else. The hubby planned a surprise welcome home party for me last night, so I’m just now getting to email, blogs, etc. I don’t have pics yet, but took an entire roll I plan to drop off later–so soon.
In the meantime, Heather (It was so great spending time with her!) [...]

I missed another Monday poetry train. With the job and conference, I’ve been slammed. I did manage to finish reading Rachel’s fantastic second book in her werecat series and I can tell you all, you’re in for a treat. Good emotional stuff in this one. She even had me bouncing in my chair through a good [...]

I haven’t been to an RWA conference in eight years and that one was my first. I’m used to smaller, regional conferences and usually prefer those–but I’m excited. Nervous and excited.
I’m rooming with a couple of great writers and expect the drive down together will be so full of discussion we’ll arrive already exhausted. <g>
I [...]
