I named my Sunday morning ramble today.
This has been one of the best mornings I’ve had in a while. I awakened to a lazy, longer than usual lie-about with a ceiling fan whirring above my head and birds singing outside the windows.
The hubby, who owns a business that requires him to travel an hour to [...]

Jumped on tonight to share some music. I’ve been listening to Iron and Wine. Yes, folk music. I do have a love for that genre, too. Suprising from someone who is a fan of alternative, trip hop and groups like Tool and Korn–but I have all kinds of favs from classical up to metal. Believe me, my [...]

I won’t be able to blog much for a few days. I’m sending my laptop home with this great IT person who offered to try and figure out why it takes half an hour to boot and why I must reboot ever two hours.
And why my new security software boots me off my wireless network. [...]

Ever notice that writers are infinitely curious about other writer’s work-spaces? It’s like we think we’ll see something profound in that little sharing of personal space. Maybe spot an ancient writer’s secret.
As for spaces? I have a few. Thought I’d share. These pics were taken on a dark, cloudy day, so the house is usually [...]

Two posts on this band in one week, but….
Over the Rhine’s new CD arrived!
My sister, Jana, is so excited she’s coming over this evening for dinner. We’re gonna play it loud on all the speakers, share a bottle of red wine and cook some yummy food!
I wasn’t going to tell her it was out. Was [...]

I’ve discovered I don’t enjoy a story if I know the ending.
I never watched the Titanic. I didn’t plan to watch 300.
If I know I’m going to get upset, I’ll avoid a movie completely.
Tonight, the hubby is watching Star Wars Episode III and yeah, it’s been out a long time, but I didn’t watch it [...]

These are the OKRWA Oklahoma Outlaws. Not all–but those there for the hat shot that day. This is the only time you’ll ever see me in a cowboy hat. <g>
If you are in the NW Expressway area today and want to hear info gathered from the RWA National Conference in Dallas, Tx this year, come by [...]

I’m so interested in how people end up on this blog. For a little while, I was receiving over 400 hits a day. Now, it’s back down around 200. Either I’ve been terrifically boring (a distinct possibility because of lack of good writing posts like in the past) or the Smart Bitches link to my site [...]

This was probably similar to the view from my daughter’s bus this morning. Only there were trees and houses… and MY DAUGHTER running toward it as it sped away…
The first morning of the first day of school was hectic! Yep, my highschooler missed the bus, though it wasn’t her fault at all.
The wrong bus showed up and [...]

Heather and I got into this long discussion on music we were into as kids. (She was inspired to post her 80s hair today.)
I’m two years older and believe it or not, that makes quite a bit of difference in certain areas. She’d never heard of Planet P. Ack! She was so deprived!!1
So, I thought [...]

My daughter’s boyfriend introduced us to Kamelot. This is called Ghost Opera. Pretty interesting. It’s a kind of epic rock opera for those who don’t feel like listening to the whole thing.
Though the style is somewhat different, I was yanked back into Queensryche Fangirl Land. (Possibly the voice? Maybe?)
Okay… am I the only one [...]
