Who Am I?
Rinda Elliott. I’m published in short fiction, poetry and articles. My most recent publication was a story called Retribution in Issue #4 of Surreal Magazine. http://www.surrealmag.com/
I’m currently working on book length manuscripts that combine horror, urban fantasy and romance. I’ve completed the first in the series, Dweller on the Threshold and have now signed with Miriam Kriss of the Irene Goodman Literary Agency. Book two, Blood of an Ancient, is in motion!
I started this blog as a tie-in to my snarky T-shirt shop for writers, but it quickly turned into something more. So, I try to keep an interesting blog in between writing, taking care of my family, making wine–yeah, I bottle it myself– finding good music, designing T-shirts and goofing off with some of the best friends a person can have.

Have a lovely day!
Of course! Thanks!
Hey,
I discovered your store recently. I think it’s the best one at CafePress.
I’m a 14 year old horror writer and I hope to be published one day. Your store items make me laugh, mostly because they are true. I do find myself staring at random people, I do stay up all night writing my next novel.
My friends think I’m weird because I’m a writer, oh well. They should get used to it.
Don’t worry, I have a lot of friends who think I’m weird–especially the ones who aren’t writers and don’t get it. Hang in there. Hope you get published, too!
Glad you like the store. I have a lot of fun making the designs.
Rinda is also the name meaning earth in northern mythology: http://books.google.com/books?id=00cBAAAAQAAJ&pg=PA182&lpg=PA182&dq=origin+of+the+name+rinda&source=web&ots=TXpeUI5cxp&sig=T2a3XZZT_nJXYimrPsPt4-KoMNs
And the goddess Rinda who married the god Odin was a giantess, but came to be considered an earth mother figure for, I believe, the winter months (no, we’re not ice princesses!).
As tall as I am, I try not to emphasize that Rinda means giantess. Smile. Thought you’d like a few other bits of information on our name meaning.
I’ve written about Odin’s Rinda myself. Did as a joke in the Norse Gods piece on the page above as well. And… I’m almost six feet tall, so I love telling people my name means giant. heh heh
I collect books about names and use them constantly to name my characters–so I’ve always found name meanings fascinating. Oddly enough, I first read your last name as Cromwell and that’s my mother’s maiden name.
hello ! sorry, for my english, but i’m frensh…
i’m intersting by a photo on your blog. i want to use it in a poster. could i use it (scary-roots.jpeg) or by it. please, contact me :).
Hi Julien, I got the picture from a free to use website called stock.xchng .
Someone else asked for it as well and I’ve been unable to find it again–but it is there. I hope you have better luck.
thank you very much Rinda… bonne continuation !!!
A very lovely bio and you make wine. That is something extra ordinary and tells much about personality. Preparing elegant and tasteful wines indicate that you definitely have class and taste for the good stuff and perfection. *This I know from an expert at wine testing. I have never been so happily drunk and the cheese was good too.*
So I want to thank you for the kind reassuring words about getting published. Geography is a major force and sometimes one has one’s doubts.
And of course sell everything you have in stock! Ask Santa for a bestseller like I did this Christmas.
Geography shouldn’t hamper sales at all, though later, when you do hit it big, you’ll probably have longer distances to travel.
By then lets hope I will be able to afford it, so it won’t matter. Now I am all cheerful! Time to blog about it! Wahoo.
Rinda, I looked for your email and couldn’t find it. I just wanted to let you know I put your link among those for Rachel’s podcast interview since she did mention you.
Thanks for linking to the podcast.
You know, when I changed my layout, I forgot to put my email back up. I’ll fix. Thanks for the heads up.
The podcast was fun. What Rachel didn’t say was she gave me a very difficult writing challenge topic and the story came from that. It’s under the Valen Greer tab at the top. (g)
