Feature Artist– Laura Givens

Here is my Clyde.

Surreal Magazine , Issue #4

I won’t tell you about the creepy-eyed things behind him because they’re important to the story. Can you see why I’m thrilled Laura Givens designed the art for Retribution?

She has quite a bit of her work including this image (Infiltrator) on her site- Laura Givens: Gallery One . She also designs book covers in addition to her gallery and illustration work. Since you all know how I love Cafe Press, I’m sharing her store as well. Laura Givens: funny, rude, outrageous fantasy art. : CafePress.com

A good friend of mine, Lyn Cash Lyn’s Licks & Laughs, described Retribution as a “chilling depiction of what happens when an emotionally dead hit man suddenly has his day of reckoning.” She’s been tooting the magazine on different lists. Thanks so much, Lyn!

My editor posted on their forums that in his editorial opinion, Retribution is one of the best stories they’ve printed. For someone who has been writing more years than she cares to admit, all this flattery is sincerely welcome. (grin)

Check out Laura Given’s work and have a great weekend!

About Rinda Elliott

Writer.I love unusual stories and credit growing up in a family of curious life-lovers who moved all over the country. Books and movies full of fantasy, science fiction and romance kept us amused, especially in some of the stranger places. For years, I tried to separate my darker side with my humorous and romantic one. I published short fiction, but things really started happening when I gave in and mixed it up. When not lost in fiction, I love making wine, collecting music, gaming and spending time with my husband and two children. I’m represented by Miriam Kriss of the Irene Goodman Agency.

  1. What a pleasant compliment from your editor.

    Congratulations. 🙂

  2. Lyn Cash says:

I’ve missed out on so much while I’ve been gone or recuperating – this artist of yours is really special. Wow. Quite a lethal combination – your story and her art. I couldn’t be happier for you, kiddo – you richly deserve this.

    Kudos!

  3. Lyn! Glad to see you’re feeling better! I still think you’re vacation sounded like the best ever.

  4. Once again, very cool artwork 🙂
