Still Working & Sorry to Disappoint

It’s quiet in here but things are going on behind the scenes. Rewrites, polishing, outlining, conversations. Also I’m dealing with a few personal family things.

I mentioned how interesting and yeah, a little scary, all the self-publishing talk is online today and had a few people send the kindest messages. You guys rock. Having people that excited feels very, very good. Thank you!

I’m so glad you’re looking forward to FORETOLD, but no, I’m not self-pubbing it. My agent and I both believe the book is in the running–it’s still out all over the place–so yanking it from a potential publisher home isn’t on the agenda. But yes, I’ve thought about it. The hope and the wait is killer some days and there will be a renewed interest in Norse mythology with the Thor release this year–I so wanted to be in on that. But something tells me to hold out a bit longer. 🙂

In the meantime, I’m back at working hard on Unnatural Selection. This version is grittier and I’m loving it.

About Rinda Elliott

Writer.I love unusual stories and credit growing up in a family of curious life-lovers who moved all over the country. Books and movies full of fantasy, science fiction and romance kept us amused, especially in some of the stranger places. For years, I tried to separate my darker side with my humorous and romantic one. I published short fiction, but things really started happening when I gave in and mixed it up. When not lost in fiction, I love making wine, collecting music, gaming and spending time with my husband and two children. I’m represented by Miriam Kriss of the Irene Goodman Agency.

Lol, I’ve also had a hard think about all the self-pubbing options and talk going on these days. It’s so tempting, but in the end I am with you on wanting to find a traditional home for my books, at least at this point in my career (ie the beginning – not all of us are Barry Eisler with a big fan base, right?). Good luck with Unnatural Selection 🙂

Yeah, if I had the audience, I’d say goodbye to this waiting period. But that’s also my impatience talking. Wanna see results here.
