RAGE Giveaway!

Jackie Morse Kessler’s newest YA, RAGE, hits the shelves today! She’s a wonderful friend of mine and I couldn’t be more excited for her, so to celebrate, I’m giving away a copy to one lucky commenter! All you gotta do is say hi. 😉 And stay tuned to the Deadline Dames because there will be more opportunities to win. I’ll pick a winner by random number generator Friday so you have all week to comment!

Missy didn’t mean to cut so deep. But after the party where she was humiliated in front of practically everyone in school, who could blame her for wanting some comfort? Sure, most people don’t find comfort in the touch of a razor blade, but Missy always was . . . different.

That’s why she was chosen to become one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: War. Now Missy wields a new kind of blade—a big, brutal sword that can cut down anyone and anything in her path. But it’s with this weapon in her hand that Missy learns something that could help her triumph over her own pain: control.

A unique approach to the topic of self-mutilation, Rage is the story of a young woman who discovers her own power and refuses to be defeated by the world.

Look what people are saying about it!

“RAGE is raw and real, a truly dark, honest look at self-harm and the teenage psyche. Kessler left me breathless.”—Heather Brewer, author of the New York Times bestselling series, The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod

“Skillfully rendered…sympathetically narrated…dark humor and realistic situations.” —Kirkus Reviews

“Like Hunger before it, Rage tackles a vital teen issue with delicacy and intelligence without preaching. Raw, visceral, pulling no punches, this story strikes home like a razor blade. It’s unforgettable, heart wrenching, and enlightening.”–Realms of Fantasy

About Rinda Elliott

Writer.I love unusual stories and credit growing up in a family of curious life-lovers who moved all over the country. Books and movies full of fantasy, science fiction and romance kept us amused, especially in some of the stranger places. For years, I tried to separate my darker side with my humorous and romantic one. I published short fiction, but things really started happening when I gave in and mixed it up. When not lost in fiction, I love making wine, collecting music, gaming and spending time with my husband and two children. I’m represented by Miriam Kriss of the Irene Goodman Agency.

I loved the first one in the series– I meant to review Rage too, but time got away from me. I have a couple of teens I know through my sons went through a stage where they were cutting, and fortunately stopped through help from friends and family. I know it’s not that easy for some kids though. My husband works in an ER, and he sees some kids over and over when they cut too deeply:(

This sounds really interesting. Thanks for the giveaway!

  6. Lori did some cutting. Always horrifies me to see someone do that to themselves even though I understand intellectually, emotionally it doesn’t make sense to me.
